• Become informed on the essential core values and philosophy of freedom and liberty
  • Read, read, read – Study, study, study – Learn, learn, learn
  • Attend activist classes to learn how to communicate, persuade, and deliver your message
  • Become an expert on the documents of freedom – U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, Federalist Papers, vital speeches and papers of our patriot leaders and founders
  • Become involved in local, state, or Federal government
  • Get out the vote (yours and others)
  • Communicate by email, voice mail, fax, or in person with elected representatives of your city, county, state, and Federal government (yours and in other districts and states) to voice your opinion on the issues (especially to those who head commissions, agencies or committees)

  • Fight against the nationalization or control of key components of American business, finance, communications, and industry
  • Fight for honest health care reform and against the socialization of the American health care system
  • Fight for transparency in government, especially disclosure by elected representatives regarding their relationships with lobbyists and full disclosure of all campaign financing
  • Demand that every federal or state politician demonstrate that any proposed legislation meets the constitutional authority for such legislation, that a concise and accurate cost/benefit analysis be published at least two weeks in advance of voting on such legislation and that the politician authoring such legislation make a sworn statement that he or she has personally read and understands such proposed legislation
  • Make effective use of modern communication technology by becoming familiar with the Internet, Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etc., and join an online community that identifies with basic American values
  • Create a communication network of friends, family, politically active people, legislators, and media using email, voice mail, and fax to effectively champion important issues or political recommendations. Make your case in a simple, concise, well-researched, factual manner. Write an individual letter rather than copying a form letter to be more effective. Write from the heart
  • Spread the message of freedom by creating an effective online petition drive to support an issue or candidate or actively sign petitions that champion the cause of freedom and liberty
  • Meet with your representatives when they come to your town to let them know your opinion and position on the issues of importance
  • Register to vote and help mobilize underrepresented voters in your district. Learn about the rules of voter registration from your county registrar’s office. Recruit family and friends to help in your general or issue-specific registration drive
  • Read more, study the issues, utilize the research, expertise and issue summary papers of the leading conservative organizations and think tanks
  • Learn how to write effective letters or an op-ed article to the editor of your local or regional newspaper to make your position known or to respond biased reporting or challenge other letter writers. Use passion for your cause or opinion but always use fact, reason and sound logic. Avoid just being another complaining old “crank” by offering solid analysis and positive solutions to an issue. If you get critical or angry responses to your letter, don’t take it personally
  • Get support of clubs, associations, and networks that may support the cause of freedom and liberty. Contact reputable journalists and encourage them to cover important and controversial issues that may be underreported
  • Make a contribution to an ad campaign for an issue you care about, or, if affordable, place your own ad, or check on the availability of public or community access TV
  • Communicate with officials you did not vote for or elect. Do your homework and present information or a viewpoint that the representative may not have considered
  • Gain as much campaign experience as possible by doing as many campaign jobs as you can and at different levels of the campaign. Most important to campaigns or candidates is fund-raising. Learn how to do it effectively
  • Volunteer to “hit the streets’ for an issue or candidate. It can be fun and a great learning experience about American politics
  • If you are an articulate, passionate, dedicated, energetic and attractive person with organizational skills, run for an office yourself. It is a great way to build relationships, reach out to voters on the issues and serve as an elected official
  • Serve your community. There are dozens of volunteer opportunities that offer a range of time commitments and focus and to fit your individual passions, talent, and interest. Volunteering offers an opportunity to network and strengthen ties with other people of similar persuasion
  • Attend a rally. You will meet others of similar persuasion and exercise your right to free speech and assembly
  • Involve your family. Pay attention to what your children are being taught in school. Talk to your children’s teachers about curriculum, books, videos and other materials used in the classroom. Talk to your children at the dinner table about issues that impact their current and future lives, Listen to speeches or watch debates as a family, and afterward discuss what each family member thought about the presentation. Give you children a sense of active participation and power by including them in rallies, fund-raising, letter writing and other activities where you choose to express your views
  • Money talks! Bank and invest your savings in those institutions that work to serve and strengthen local communities. Give proactively to those candidates, parties, organizations, or people that support the cause of freedom and liberty and are or will make a strategic difference
  • If you are a person of faith, discuss the attempt to destroy our religious freedom and Judeo-Christian heritage in America with your pastor, rabbi or priest. Discuss how they might strengthen our religious freedom and moral order through their position and power of the pulpit. History has shown that often godly persons loose elections not because of ungodly opposition, but because too many godly persons sit out elections or fail in their support of godly candidates. Our founding fathers did not envision a country of selfish materialists ruled by their own appetites
  • Never underestimate the impact a single person can have!
